About the Book Drive -- how to donate

Warren Drumheller was the father of Pufferbellies owner Susan Blanton, and the grandfather of Pufferbellies owner Erin Blanton. It was because of his generosity of heart and spirit that Pufferbellies came to be. In honor of "Pop," Pufferbellies Toys & Books is pleased to sponsor the 2008 Warren H. Drumheller Memorial Book Drive.

How does it work?

From October 25th to December 24th, 2008, Pufferbellies customers can purchase any book to donate to a school library, and receive 40% off its cover price. We'll make a custom book plate for each book, naming the donor and the recipient school. All the donated books will be stored at Pufferbellies until January, 2009, when we'll hold a special "presentation celebration" for donors and school librarians at the store.

What schools are eligible?

All schools, public and private, anywhere in the country are eligible to receive book donations. We will ship books to any school in the US.

Who can donate?

Anyone can donate a book, and will get a 40% discount on all books purchased for the Book Drive. If you can't make it to the store in person, please feel free to call Pufferbellies at (540) 886-3516 to purchase your book with a credit card. Ask to speak with Erin Blanton or Susan Blanton.

How do I know what books my library needs?

We are in the process of collecting Wish Lists for the Book Drive -- see the right-hand side of this page for the list. Just click the name of your school to view their Wish List. If your school doesn't have a Wish List, you can call your librarian and ask if there are specific titles he or she needs. Or, call Pufferbellies at (540) 886-3516 and ask to speak with Erin Blanton or Susan Blanton. We'll be glad to make some recommendations.
